Lesson - National Park Road Trip

Hit the road for an unforgettable learning adventure with the "National Park Road Trip" project! Designed for grades 2-6, this 10 to 14-session lesson puts students in the driver's seat as they explore the history and structure of the U.S. Interstate system.
 
Students will apply their knowledge in a real-world scenario by researching and planning a complete road trip to a National Park of their choice. The journey includes everything from mapping the route and estimating costs to discovering unique facts about their destination. To top it all off, they will design and write a postcard from their imaginary trip. This project is a fantastic way to build skills in research, critical thinking, mathematics, and creative writing through a fun, travel-themed experience.
